### **What Will Not Be Funded** AFCP **does not** fund: - Private or commercially owned property preservation - Natural heritage (e.g., fossils, geological formations) - Human remains, news media, or published materials - Educational materials or new museum collections - New constructions, new works of art, or modern adaptations - Relocation or removal of cultural objects - Digitization projects not tied to clear preservation goals - Fundraising campaigns or contingency costs - Projects under $25,000 or over $500,000
### **How to Apply** The application process has multiple stages. In the first round, interested applicants must submit a **concept note** via email to **Paramaribo-grants@state.gov** by **December 15, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.**
The concept note (max **2 pages**) must contain: 1. **Project Basics:** Applicant details, SAM registration status, project title, timeline (12–60 months), location, and funding request (USD). 2. **Project Summary:** A description (max **3,000 characters**) covering activities, deliverables, and intended outcomes. 3. **Visual Documentation:** Five high-quality images or audiovisual files showing the site or artifact’s current condition.
If selected, applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by **March 17, 2025** for final review in Washington, D.C.
